For centuries, women have been subdued and devoid of the basic opportunities that men enjoy so well. They have been named second-class citizens who didn’t have the right to vote for long and thus, did not have any control over the laws which governed their lives. As we begin our journey towards becoming a progressive society that is learning to tackle climate change and live sustainably, we realize that we can not leave the half of our citizenry that women compose behind. Liberty is every individual’s birthright and thus; women deserve to be treated equally on all counts with them receiving the same rights and opportunities which men have had for decades.
