Building an Equitable and Gender Just Society

 

Empowering women by building their skills, capacities, and assets and creating an enabling environment with stakeholders who are committed to their socio-economic development, Jove Conscious is an NGO Working for Women Empowerment in Delhi that provides Training courses, involving various Livelihood Programs which are organized depending on the existing local skills of the women. Their capacities are built by collaborating with the NGO for Skill Training Courses for Women in Delhi. Gender perspective plays an important role in women's empowerment where women make up half of the labor force but are paid lower and are assigned mostly unskilled jobs. Due to women’s concentration in the lower status jobs their potential to contribute fully remains largely untapped.

Women are important stakeholders in the development process – helping as workers, producers, caregivers, and customers — yet they are not protected from the negative fallout of gender biases. Gender stereotypes in constructing skill sets, knowledge, and policies often confine women to conventionally defined work choices and limit their professional development.

Empowering women toward a sustainable tomorrow is a way to bring about gender equality within society. Women are the change-makers, who are empowering other women through their life experiences, bringing them to a level where they can either start their own micro-enterprise or form a group of women to start their own production units and develop linkages with local markets and integrate. Education is the solution to empowering women & girls from marginalized communities.

The world will forever be in a dire need of great leadership. In an ideal world, it should not matter whether it’s a woman running the leadership role in the organization or a man helping and managing the household chores.

And in a world in which we live where male domination still exists as it did 100 years ago, it has become imperative for women leaders to emerge and stand up for their rights and emerge as leaders for a better and equitable tomorrow. Jove Conscious is an NGO for Domestic Violence in Delhi.
